Hi! I'm Anne.

I work with adults who feel anxious, overwhelmed, low, or stuck — often those who look like they’re managing well on the outside but feel something very different on the inside. Many of the people I see are high-functioning professionals who are used to pushing through. They show up for work, relationships, and responsibilities — yet internally feel tense, disconnected, discouraged, or exhausted. Often, anxiety or depression doesn’t exist in isolation. It’s connected to earlier experiences, chronic stress, or trauma that the nervous system is still holding onto. In our work together, we’ll gently explore those patterns while also building practical tools to help you feel more steady and in control. Therapy with me is collaborative, grounded, and focused on real change — not just insight, but meaningful shifts in how you experience your life..

My Experience

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with advanced training in anxiety and trauma treatment across hospital, intensive outpatient, and residential settings. At Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, I provided individual outpatient therapy and facilitated anxiety-focused groups. I also helped pilot a new Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), contributing to the development of structured, high-quality care for adults experiencing significant distress. Prior to that, I worked at Compass Health Center as a primary clinician and group therapist in trauma-focused programs. There, I provided individual therapy and facilitated groups using evidence-based treatments, while also training new therapists and presenting on topics such as the neurobiology of trauma and the intersection of trauma and gender. Earlier in my career, I worked in residential treatment programs in St. Louis, providing trauma therapy and substance use support for adult survivors of sexual trauma. Across each setting, my focus has remained the same: helping people understand their patterns and build lives that feel more manageable and meaningful.

Education and Training

  • Master of Social Work – Washington University in St. Louis
  • Bachelor of Social Work – University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
  • Extensive training in trauma-focused interventions, including CPT, Seeking Safety, and motivational interviewing

My Approach

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and steady. I believe therapy works best when you feel both safe and gently challenged. We’ll take your experiences seriously — and we’ll also make room for breath and perspective along the way. I pay attention to how anxiety, depression, and trauma show up not just in your thoughts, but in your body and relationships. Together, we’ll build insight and practical tools so you can respond differently rather than feeling pulled by old patterns.

Therapies I Draw From

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

We might be a good fit if:

  • You’re high-achieving but constantly anxious or self-critical
  • You feel emotionally drained, numb, or disconnected
  • You’ve experienced trauma but don’t always think of yourself as “traumatized”
  • You struggle with chronic stress or pain that feels connected to emotional overwhelm
  • You want therapy that is both compassionate and structured
