As a former attorney, Christina (she/her) is no stranger to significant life transitions and how overwhelming they can be. As a therapist, she is interested in helping clients navigate tough times in their lives with compassion for themselves and to find strength in their resilience. Christina cultivates a warm, comfortable, and most of all, collaborative relationship with clients.

Prior to joining the Proactive team, Christina worked in the emergency department at UChicago Medicine, performing clinical mental health assessments and crisis counseling. Christina also worked as a research assistant for a laboratory at University of Chicago Medicine specializing in health-related social needs. Christina’s interest in research informs her approach to therapy: she is passionate about learning as much as possible about the most up-to-date evidence-based ways to help clients who experience chronic distress.

Christina is trauma-informed, sex-positive, and LGBTQIA+ friendly. Christina enjoys working with individuals as well as couples and is trained in the Gottman Method— an evidence based approach to working with couples. Christina completed her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from The University of Chicago where she studied Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and contemporary psychodynamic theory.

Location: Christina is available to meet with clients in our office in downtown Chicago which is walking distance from both the Metra and the “El” for in-person therapy sessions. Christina also sees clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from Chicago may choose in-person or online therapy and often visit our offices from surrounding areas including River North, Gold Coast, Hyde Park, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown, Ravenswood, Andersonville, South Loop, West Loop, Evanston and the Northshore.

I would describe my approach as direct and at times irreverant, but always with warmth and from a genuine place of compassion and collaboration with my clients. I enjoy working with clients who are going through signficant life transitions. As a career changer therapist who has lived in 6 states, I'm no stranger to the winding path life takes us down. I’ve had a lot of success helping people who are struggling with executive functioning issues and who may need ADHD coaching. As a queer therapist, I also enjoy working with queer clients or clients looking to explore their sexuality in a safe space. I'm also a former lawyer, I connect with lawyers, law students, and other high-stress business professionals struggling with demands of the field. I'm originally from Texas (yeehaw!) and enjoy playing video games, embroidering, and trying out new chickpea-related recipes.
