Therapy for Anxiety, Life Transitions, and Maternal Mental Health in Chicago

Lillian is a bilingual Chicago therapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, stress, perfectionism, and major life transitions. She also has a special focus on supporting women through the emotional challenges of trying to conceive, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and early motherhood.

Many of the people Lillian works with appear capable and composed on the outside but feel overwhelmed, self-critical, or stretched thin internally. Whether you're navigating the pressure to do everything well, adjusting to a new stage of life, or coping with uncertainty around fertility or motherhood, therapy can offer a space to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

Lillian’s approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. Together you’ll explore the patterns that may be contributing to stress or anxiety while building tools that help you feel more grounded, balanced, and aligned with what matters most.

Lillian offers therapy in both English and Spanish.

Support During Pregnancy, Fertility, and Early Motherhood

Trying to conceive, being pregnant, and adjusting to life with a new baby can bring up emotions that many people do not expect. What is often portrayed as an exciting or joyful season can also include anxiety, grief, uncertainty, identity shifts, disappointment, loneliness, and a tremendous amount of pressure.

Lillian works with women navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy-related stress, postpartum emotional changes, and the transition into motherhood. Therapy can offer space to process the emotional weight of these experiences, make room for conflicting feelings, and develop tools to move through this stage with more steadiness and self-compassion.

Whether you are coping with the stress of trying to get pregnant, adjusting to changes during pregnancy, or feeling unlike yourself after having a baby, therapy can help you feel less alone and more supported.

My Experience

I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with experience across community mental health and outpatient settings. I’ve worked with adults navigating stress, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, life transitions, and relationship challenges.

In my clinical work, I focus on helping clients build coping skills, develop self-compassion, and create more balance and fulfillment in their daily lives. I aim to help people better understand the patterns that keep them feeling overwhelmed so they can respond to themselves and their circumstances in new ways.

Before moving to the United States, I provided therapy and psychosocial support in Mexico. Those experiences gave me a strong appreciation for the many personal, cultural, and environmental factors that shape emotional wellbeing, and they continue to inform my holistic and compassionate approach today.

My Approach

Clients often describe me as calm, warm, and easy to talk to. I believe therapy works best when you feel supported, understood, and gently encouraged to see things from a different perspective.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy, always tailoring therapy to fit your needs and goals. My work blends insight with practical tools so that therapy feels helpful not only in session, but in your day-to-day life.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, navigating a difficult transition, or trying to quiet your inner critic, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more able to move toward a life that feels meaningful and sustainable.

What Therapy With Me Looks Like

Therapy with me is collaborative and paced around what feels most helpful for you. Some sessions may focus on understanding the deeper patterns contributing to stress, anxiety, or self-criticism, while others may focus on building concrete tools to help you cope more effectively in the moment.

Together, we may explore how past experiences, current stressors, or internalized expectations affect the way you relate to yourself and others. We’ll also work on practical strategies that help you manage emotions, respond with more flexibility, and create greater balance in everyday life.

I want therapy to feel like a space where you can speak honestly, feel less alone in what you are carrying, and begin making changes that feel both real and manageable.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • You want practical tools to manage stress while also understanding yourself more deeply
  • You are looking for therapy that feels thoughtful, supportive, and collaborative

Bilingual Therapy in English and Spanish

Lillian provides therapy in both English and Spanish and welcomes clients who feel most comfortable speaking in either language. Being able to express yourself in the language that feels most natural can make therapy feel more connected, nuanced, and supportive.

Getting Started

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you are used to handling things on your own. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or ready for things to feel different, therapy can be a place to begin making those changes.

Lillian provides in-person therapy in Chicago and telehealth therapy for clients throughout Illinois.
